Catherine Lecomte Lapp received her Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Liège, Belgium, in 2001. Her interest focuses on Greek literature, ancient religion, and artistic representations of myths from antiquity to modern times. She has traveled extensively in the Mediterranean and has spent several years in Greece, Italy, and Cyprus. She has published several articles on Plato and ancient mythology, has written over one hundred reviews, and is preparing for publication her thesis on the political use of the myth of Europa in the Greco-Roman world. Eric Lapp earned his Ph.D. in Ancient Jewish History and Near Eastern Archaeology from Duke University in 1997. He has lived and traveled widely in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, and is a senior staff member of archaeological excavations in Israel and Jordan. A former fellow of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens and the W.F. Albright Institute for Archaeological Research in Jerusalem, Lapp has published numerous articles in journals and books, including The Oxford Encyclopedia of Archaeology in the Near East. |
